A guide to your coming move
Getting Started - A Moving Survey
Get in touch with Strongman Removals and Storage, and one of our friendly, experienced movers will be ready to answer your questions and check out your house.
You can choose a traditional home survey or a virtual video survey. The home survey usually takes about an hour, but the virtual survey is faster because you can do it remotely at the best time to suit you.
We will ask about any breakable or valuable items so we can suggest the best way to pack them and make sure they stay safe.
Moving costs
We offer free, no-obligation quotes based on the survey results. The price of your move will depend on the size of your home and how many things you have.
You also need to include any extra services you might need, like packing and storage, in the cost. Our quote for your move covers the actual moving of items, including any packing, VAT, transit insurance and insurance premium tax.
Move Schedule
We’ll give you a detailed schedule of when we’re expecting your move to occur.
We’ll fit around your needs to make sure everything goes off without a hitch and keep you up to date with any changes or delays that may happen.
Storage Costs
We can offer you long- and short-term storage for items you don’t want to take straight away.
We will let you know the cost when we provide your quote, depending on the volume of items you need to store and how long you’ll need them stored.
Planning Your Move
You’ll get a move plan with your quote and acceptance form. It’ll include the timeline, pick-up and delivery locations, services to be provided (including any items that aren’t to be moved), what you’re responsible for, and storage options (if required).
Check it all carefully to make sure it’s right before confirming the move. Let us know immediately if anything has changed.
Insurance and Waivers
With our Goods in Transit and Storage Insurance, you can rest assured that your belongings are covered while they’re being moved. We use a regulated insurer and will compensate you or repair/replace damaged items if you have a valid claim. Plus, there’s no excess with this policy. Additionally, we offer Waiver coverage to protect both properties from accidental damage. It also offers flexibility for unexpected changes like not making it into your new home on time or having to cancel the move last minute.
Cancellation Waiver
Avoid any fees if you need to cancel or postpone your move once it’s been confirmed.
Get Cancellation Waiver coverage for any changes in plans.
Accepting a Quote
To book your move, review and call Strongman Removals and Storage to confirm. Then complete the acceptance form that comes with your quotation, ticking boxes for each service needed.
Sign and submit your form to our team, making payment by debit or credit card).
Please make sure there’s adequate space for vehicles – they’re similar in size to a double-decker bus!
